Skywalk Allgäu is a path with a length of about 1,640 ft, installed at a height of 49 to 98 ft above ground, leading through the treetops of the Allgäu Alps. The path construction, built at approximately 3,281 ft above sea level, consists of cable-stayed and suspension bridge constructions. It is supported by 14 towers guyed with cables. More and more cities and towns, especially in southern Germany, are open to multi-story timber buildings. The German city of Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance was convinced of the apartment building concept by the wood construction company Müllerblaustein Holzbau GmbH.
A timber lookout tower called "Ester" opened in Jerusalem in mid-November 2017. This tower, in the shape of a blooming cactus, was designed by renowned Czech architect Martin Rajniš and is located in the complex of a former hospital from 1887, not far from the Old Town walls. It offers visitors a spectacular view over Jerusalem.
An extraordinary new outdoor theatre opened in Bytom, Poland in August 2014. From a structural engineering point of view, the building consists of two parts (a theater stage and a backstage) geometrically interconnected by a spatial-shaped roof. This gives the structure its remarkable design.
